When the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) brought together 80 of their senior leaders for a rare full-team gathering, the brief was ambitious: spark innovation, challenge entrenched ways of thinking, and strengthen leadership capability across one of the world’s most influential financial institutions.
The offsite had to be fast-moving, energising, thought-provoking, and delivered on a tight timeline. LSEG wanted an experience that didn’t just inform their leaders, but genuinely shifted how they approached creativity, collaboration, and decision-making.
Tempest Experiences was brought in to design and facilitate a one-day programme that blended immersive challenge, storytelling, and neuroscience in a way that felt bold, modern, and directly relevant to the complexity of LSEG’s work.
The Challenge
LSEG’s senior leaders operate in a high-performance, highly regulated environment where time is scarce and expectations are extremely high. The organisation needed an offsite that could quickly:
Break habitual thinking patterns
Encourage open dialogue between leaders who rarely get time together
Create space for bolder ideas and new approaches
Strengthen collaboration across business units
Provide practical leadership tools that could be taken back into the organisation
The brief was last-minute, leaving no margin for generic content or off-the-shelf experiences. The experience had to land, decisively.
Our Approach
We built a bespoke leadership experience designed around one central intention: to disrupt default thinking and unlock fresh perspectives.
The day unfolded through a sequence of interactive sessions that wove together:
Storytelling that reframed resilience, decision-making, and leadership through real-world expedition narratives
Neuroscience-based insights that grounded ideas in evidence and gave leaders a clearer understanding of how innovation truly happens
Experiential challenges that put teams under pressure in controlled, psychologically safe ways, revealing new approaches to creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving
The agenda was crafted to be immersive without feeling overwhelming, reflective without slowing pace, and intellectually stretching while still being deeply human.
What Happened on the Day
The energy in the room shifted quickly. Leaders who arrived with traditional expectations of an offsite found themselves:
